As in For Jill's sake we did not serve meat, or We have to stop fighting for the sake of family unity.
中文释义：1.for the sake of sth由于...的缘故=the purpose/motive；2. for someone's sake看在……份上；为帮助。需要注意的是for the sake of 不等于 because of，因为for the sake of的意思是由于...的缘故，所以有人可能会把它等同于because of，事实上because of 的适用范围要比for the sake of 大很多。一切可能的原因,不管是正面或负面都可以用.至于for the sake of 所陈述的理由一般是正面的。
E.G.1: She moved to Taipei for the sake of/ because of her father. （女生为了就近照顾或陪伴爸爸而搬到台北，动机是温暖和贴心的，所以是for the sake of. ）
E.G.2: They canceled the picnic because of (不能用for the sake of) the rain.（因为下雨而不能去郊游即使不扫兴应该也很难让人开心，所以只能用中性的because of.）
