It turns out that...中的that引导的不是主语从句而是表语从句。turn out表“证明是；结果是；原来是”时为系动词，可接形容词、副词、名词、不定式（常用to be）、从句（用先行词it作主语）作表语，间或接介词短语等其它结构。在It turns out that...句式中，引导词“it”没有实际意义，在句中用作虚拟主语，指某种情况或现象，that引导表语从句说明这种情况或现象。
