Let alone

Let alone: Not to mention or think of someone or something; not even to take someone or something into account.(更不用说...)The phrase is used to emphasize that if other more significant or pressing things are not possible or cannot be accommodated, a lesser thing certainly is not or cannot either.

例句:(进一步肯定)He knows every cabbage stump in the gardens, let alone the people.(他对菜园里的每一棵白菜茬都熟悉,更别说对人了);(进一步否定)I wouldn't go out with him, let alone marry him.(我不会跟他一起出去,更不会嫁给他)。
