Keanu Reeves' character, Alex, is alive at the end of The Lake House (2006).
The movie revolves around a time-travel romance between Kate (Sandra Bullock) in 2006 and Alex (Keanu Reeves) in 2004, who communicate through letters left in the mailbox of the lake house. The twist comes when Kate realizes that Alex was supposed to have died in a traffic accident in 2006—the same day she witnessed a man being hit by a bus.
Realizing this, she urgently writes to Alex in 2004, warning him not to go to that location on that day. He follows her warning and avoids the accident. Then, in 2006, Alex—now alive and having waited two years—finally arrives at the lake house to reunite with Kate.
So, in the end, Alex survives, and they finally meet in real time, suggesting they will now have a future together.
