If you do something from time to time, you do it occasionally but not regularly. When a person does not do something regularly, they can use this phrase to imply once in a while.
As in Every now and then I long for a piece of chocolate.
中文释义：every now and then不时地，时常地；偶尔地 。表示在某些场合会发生一些事情，而不是一直发生。或者，表示你时不时做一些事情，你偶尔会做，但不是经常做。当一个人不经常做某事时，他们可以用这个短语来表达。
