Make peace with sb/sth: To reconcile or come to terms with a person or thing that was a previous source of stress, conflict, regret, etc.; To end a quarrel with a person or group, especially by telling them you are sorry. As in Ann wanted to make her peace with her father before he died.中文释义：与某人/某事和解、和平共处，和某人言归于好，尤其指通过道歉的方式。朋友之间难免产生小矛盾，但是慢慢我们之间仍会和好如初。这时候就可以用上Make peace with sb这个短语了。表示“和好”类似的表达还有：patch sth. up（和解，解决分歧）；make up with sb（与某人和好）等。例句：Tom said sorry to Mike and at last they made peace with each other. （汤姆向迈克道歉，最终和解了。）
